George B. ‘Cudda’ Hillman of Newburgh, a charter member and past-President of Winona Lake Engine Company for over 50 years, passed away on March 24, 2017, in Middletown. He was 79. George was a retired truck driver for Sunoco in New Windsor and a lifetime resident of the area. The son of the late George and Ann Elizabeth Smith Hillman, he was born August 20, 1937, in Cornwall, NY. A US Army veteran, he served with the 82nd Airborne Division A family statement read: “He was best friend to all of his sons and grandchildren. Cudda worked with his sons in each of their businesses.” Survivors include his companion, Joanne Cardillo of Middlehope; his three sons: Bernard J. Hillman and his wife, Stacey, Timothy G. Hillman and his wife, Gina and Brian M. Hillman, all of Montgomery, NY; four grandchildren: Zachary, Dykota, Brittney and Jake.
