On August 30 2026, members from the West Hempstead Fire Department held a fire school on patient extrication involving two automobiles. Members from the Rescue Squad did patient care while working with members from the department to figure out the best way to extricate the patient. Two different evolutions were done with the victim placed in two different spots. Air bags were the main tool to be used. Everyone learned something new that day and all did a great job thanks to all the officers who were there to teach this class.
