On  October 3, 2016, the Wantagh Fire Department responded to Ring Lane in Levittown, for a house fire. Second Assistant Chief Ken Kelly arrived to fire coming out the front kitchen window. Engine 2, Ladder 2 and Engine 7, arrived and stretched two lines, attacking fire on the first floor. Engine 2 went upstairs to attack fire that had spread to the second  floor. While searching a rear bedroom, Firefighter Brian Fink found a dog and, assisted by Firefighter Brian Gilmor, removed the dog, which was taken to an animal hospital for treatment. There were approximately 50 firefighters from Wantagh, assisted by units from North Bellmore, Levittown, Seaford and East Meadow as well as NCPD. In addition, Bethpage and Bellmore stood by at Wantagh.
