For a multi-residential fire on Hourglass Court. Engine 17 arrived to a two-story row of townhomes with heavy fire in the front and rear of a second-from-end unit. Behind the fire unit, a gas meter was burning along with a number of vehicles. Arriving fire units also found three injured occupants and firefighters began patient care and assisted arriving Wake County EMS units, who transported all three. After an interior attack, crews were withdrawn and a period of defensive operations was started with aerial streams and handlines. A second alarm was requested at 0332 with staging set at nearby Fire Station 17. The fire was marked under control at 0449. The first-alarm response included auto-aid from Durham Highway Fire Department. Two townhome units were heavily damaged.
