A fire on Washington Street came in, New Britain (CT) firefighters were already fighting a two-alarm fire on Clinton Street. Only two New Britain apparatus were able to respond to the Washington Street call, but mutual aid came from Hartford, West Hartford, Middletown and Bristol. About 15 minutes into the Washington Street scene, a second alarm was transmitted. The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes thereafter.
