Lawrence (MA) firefighters fought a three-alarm fire in the early morning of August 29, 2016, on Lafayette Avenue. Ladder 4 arrived to find heavy fire showing throughout the second floor of a large, 2-1/2 story, wood frame, two-family dwelling. The fire quickly extended into the attic and through the roof, prompting firefighters to transition into a defensive attack. Mutual aid was brought in from several surrounding communities. All residents were accounted for, but the home was a complete loss.
