IFD Victims Assistance was on scene and working with the family’s insurance for shelter and to secure the house.

No injuries
Command terminated at 5:05 PM

The resident told firefighters that she heard and felt lightning strike the house, in the area of the chimney.  She was working in her office and the strike damaged the computer and other electronics she was using.  She called 911 and evacuated.  The family was packed and set to go on a much anticipated vacation the following day.  The strike traveled from the chimney to the basement and did extensive damage to the attic area and upper level of the home along with the basement.
