Thousands of people turned out to attend the funeral of FDNY Battalion Chief Michael Fahy, who  lost his life in a Bronx explosion.  Michael Fahy was the first FDNY line-of service death in two-plus years in the City of New York, and the highest-ranked firefighter to die on the job since 9/11. Fahy’s funeral was held at the Annunciation-Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Yonkers on October 1, 2016. Chief Fahy was posthumously promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief by FDNY Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro. Our prayers go out to his family and to all of the people whose lives he touched. May Deputy Chief Michael Fahy rest in peace and guide us from the floor above.
