The Sussex County Coalition of Safe Kids conducted its annual Safe Kids Day on June 20, 2015, at the Lowe’s Home Improvement Center, in Lewes, Delaware. This has become one of the premier safety events held within the State of Delaware. Safe Kids members, along with the staff of Lowe’s, worked for months planning the event. Lowe’s corporate offices took notice of the event recently and used the event as a model for all stores across North America for the public relations efforts. It was estimated that nearly 800 people attended the this year’s event. Displays and interactive activities were in place by over 40 vendors. The Delaware State Fire Marshal, Delaware State Fire School, as well at the Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Indian River and Bethany Beach Fire Companies all participated in a fun day with the children.
