On October 9, 2016, Task Force 191 (Station 191, Ladder 181, and Engine 183), Rescue Engine 171, Ladder 672, Tender 211 and BLS 1861 were dispatched to West Hampton Street at the Pine Meadow Apartments for a reported building fire in Building 2. Chief 1900 arrived to find fire issuing from a second floor apartment. The fire was held to the original apartment and placed under control within an hour. In all six units were affected and all 12 apartments were evacuated due to utility issues. Displaced were 34 residents, 13 of whom were children. Mutual aid came from Lumberton, Tabernacle, Tabernacle Rescue Woodland Township, Juliustown, and Hampton Lakes. The fire was considered suspicious and was being investigated by the Pemberton Borough and Township Police Department, Burlington County Fire Marshal’s Office, New Jersey Division of Fire Safety Arson and K-9 Unit, and the New Jersey State Police.
