On March 24, 2015, Adams County Box 1-8 was struck for the house fire on Flickinger Road in Straban Township. Adams 911 advised Chief 1 (Shank) they were receiving multiple calls. Gettysburg’s Engine 1-2 arrived to a fully involved attached garage with extension to a two-story single family home. A Blitz Fire was placed into service on the garage as Engine 1-2’s crew made entry to side A. The fire extended to the first and second floors as well as the basement. Several cats perished in the fire, but there were no injuries reported. Assisting departments included: Gettysburg, United, Littlestown, Bonneauville and Biglerville.
