Southwick (MA) firefighters were called to College Highway for a report of a chimney fire. Crews arrived to find a large single-story wood framed home well involved with fire through the roof. A second alarm was sounded requesting Suffield (CT) and Granby (CT) to the scene, and Granville (MA) to cover. Crews went defensive and East Granby (CT) was called for manpower. Crews battled the blaze for over 2-1/2 hours before bringing the stubborn fire under control. The home was a total loss.
