Haddam (CT) Volunteer Fire Company with mutual aid from East Haddam, responded to a plane crash on July 23, 2016, near the Connecticut River.
A single-engine plane, which took off from the nearby Goodspeed Airport, spiraled down and crashed into the roof of a home. The pilot was extricated by passersbys, firefighters and East Haddam Ambulance personnel from the second story of the home. Life Star helicopter transported the pilot to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries. The homeowner was home at the time but was uninjured.
