On June 2, 2016 Shaker Road-Loudonville Fire Department was called to Wood Plot Drive for a structure fire. Upon arrival, the structure was fully involved with most of the roof area in flames. Latham, West Albany, Colonie, Fuller Road, along with support companies covering their districts, responded to the single-family structure. The residents were not home but arrived shortly after the call was put in, where upon the male resident collapsed and was taken to the hospital. The fire was extremely difficult to work on due because the location was difficult to approach so no ladder truck was able to be utilized and there was not sufficient water to give enough water pressure for the number of apparatus that were at the scene. Lines were run from long distances and many engines were run off of each other. The terrain of the property also precluded access to parts of the building. Firefighters fought the constantly spreading fire as hot spots spread throughout the roof area. The fire, which began in the rear of the structure, completely decimated the home and was considered suspicious and was under investigation.
