Schenectady firefighters battled a two-alarm fire on Clarendon Street recently. On arrival, flames were seen shooting from a second-floor porch and extending to the attic. Engine 4 was first to arrive and a quickly knocked down the fire with its deck gun, saving the structure. One firefighter was taken to Ellis Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
