The Portage Fire District, along with members of Mid County EMS, Carroll Township EMS and Fire Department, and Danbury Township Fire Department, were privileged to honor retired Rocky Ridge Fire Department Chief Kevin Pfaff, who passed away December 31, 2023 at Mercy Health-St. Charles Hospital. He was 69.

Kevin was a graduate of Oak Harbor High School, and was a retired diesel mechanic at CSX Transportation, where he worked for 38 years. An active community member, Kevin was a member of Rocky Ridge Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years, serving as Chief for over 10 years. He also was a member of Mid-County Emergency Medical Service, Oak Harbor, for many years, and was a member of the former Moose Lodge of Port Clinton. Kevin enjoyed fishing, but his greatest love was his grandbabies.

He is survived by his sons, Jason Pfaff, Woodville, OH; Anthony (Jolene) Pfaff, Greencastle, IN; brothers, Kenneth (Lois) Pfaff, Oak Harbor, and Karl Pfaff, Rocky Ridge; and sister, Charlene Hayes, Rocky Ridge. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Aaron , Teagen , Evelyn, Faith, Kristalynn, Holden, Lyla, and Desirae. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sandy Gilbert.
