On November 15, 2014, the North Lindenhurst Piston Knockers celebrated their 50th anniversary as a racing team with a gathering at their firehouse on Straight Path Road. Over 200 guests, including family, friends and teams from both Nassau and Suffolk counties, came to honor the team and celebrate with them. Great food and drink were part of the program, as well as speeches and gifts from fellow competitors. The evening also included a special remembrance of Anthony “Crash” Calabro, who is widely recognized as being one of those most responsible for bringing the team to the competitive level that it exists at today. All in all, a wonderful time was had by all.
