On October 7, 2016, the Paterson Fire Department responded to a fire in the area of Rosa Parks Boulevard and 12th Avenue. E-5, 1, 4, 3, L-3, 1, BC-2, R-2 and 68-1 responded. BC-2 arrived and reported a fully involved, vacant 2-1/2 story frame with a severe exposure problem on the B side and requested a second alarm. Heavy fire involved both buildings. The B exposure was also a 2-1/2 story frame but was occupied. The original fire building collapsed within 20 minutes of units’ arrival but with two ladder pipes and numerous handlines, the main body of fire was knocked down in about an hour. No firefighters were injured and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office was called due to the large amount of fire on arrival.
