On July 20, 2016, the Passaic Fire Department responded to  Lexington Avenue for reported smoke coming from a home. Upon arrival, companies were faced with heavy fire and made an aggressive interior attack as the fire worked its way to the upper floors. Companies then evacuated as Truck 1 vented the A/D roof where heavy fire was visible. Multiple masterstreams were put into place to knock down the fire as companies resumed interior ops to knock down any remaining fire. The home has been a problem spot for the Passaic firefighters due to the presence of squatters.
