The Massapequa Fire Department was called to an MVA on Bay Drive South when a car struck a tree and overturned, trapping the driver. A Nassau County Police unit put its push bar against the roof of the car to stabilize it from rolling back. Ladder 632, Squad 8, Engine 6311 and numerous ambulances responded. The crews from 632, Squad 8 and Nassau County ESU put tools into operation and removed part of the roof to extricate the driver in about 20 minutes. The injured driver was taken to Nassau University Medical Center by Nassau County Police Ambulance.
