An Old Westbury home, located in the Roslyn Fire District, was reduced to rubble on May 27, 2016, by a massive four-alarm fire. Firefighters were called to the Elmhurst Drive home off Post Road and found the house heavily engulfed in flames. Departments from several surrounding communities were called to the scene to assist. Nassau County Fire Marshals responded to conduct an investigation.
