New Rochelle firefighters were dispatched to Faneuil Place for a house fire. First arriving companies found heavy fire showing from numerous windows on the top floor of the dwelling. As companies began to stretch lines a second alarm was struck as the well-advanced fire continued to burn. Crews made an interior attack and were able to make the second floor before being pulled out of the building due to structural stability concerns. A ladder pipe and numerous handlines were put into operation to knock down the heavy body of fire. Once the fire was contained, crews were able to re-enter the building. A third alarm was brought in to help with the labor-intensive overhaul process.
