Recently, Netcong firefighters were dispatched to Hillside Avenue for a house fire. Netcong Chief 1 arrived to find smoke showing from a top floor window and attic area. Netcong Engine 1 arrived and stretched a line, as the second-due stretched in. A second alarm was struck bringing Stanhope Ladder 1, which vented as crews from Budd Lake and Chester set up in front. Byram provided air and manpower while Stanhope and Netcong provided EMS and rehab. The fire was knocked down within 45 minutes. Assistance was also provided by Roxbury, Mt. Arlington and Flanders.
