Late on June 25, 2015, the Ronkonkoma Fire Department was activated for an MVA with reported overturn at the intersection of Hawkins Avenue and Expressway Drive North. First Commanding Chief Kevin Murray (5-24-32) was met with a two- vehicle MVA and confirmed the overturned vehicle, but advised his incoming units of negative entrapment. The crew of Rescue 8 arrived quickly to secure the vehicles. Suffolk County Police Emergency Services Units assisted on scene by uprighting the vehicle. Both drivers were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for their injuries via a Ronkonkoma ambulance.
