The Copiague Fire Department was called to an MVA with reported entrapment at the intersection of Verdi Avenue and Great Neck Road on October 8, 2016. First arriving units encountered a two-vehicle accident involving an SUV and a sedan, with the passenger of the sedan trapped. Engines 1-3-5, 1-3-9, Heavy Rescue 1-3-3 Ambulances 1-3-1 and 1-3-27, Utility 1-3-6 and First Responder 1-3-80 responded. The crew from 1-3-3 removed the passenger door of the sedan and extricated that person in about 10 minutes. The crew from Engine 1-3-5 had a precautionary line stretched and the crew from 1-3-9 secured the SUV. The passenger in the sedan and two people in the SUV were injured and were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital by 1-3-1, 1-3-27 and North Amityville Ambulance 1-7-22.
