Shortly before 0100 on May 3, 2016, the Stevenson Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a home on Downs Road in Monroe (CT), which was under renovation and reported to be engulfed in flames. First units on scene found the unoccupied home fully involved. Firefighters from Stevenson, Stepney, and Monroe battled the blaze, while tankers from Sandy Hook (Newtown), Quaker Farms (Oxford) and White Hills (Shelton) provided tankers for the non-hydrant area. Companies from Huntington Fire Co. 3 (Shelton) and Long Hill Fire Co. 1 (Trumbull) provided station coverage.
