The Melville Fire Department was dispatched to a crash on the Northern State Parkway between the Round Swamp Road and Route 110 exits on May 7, 2015. The crash caused an SUV traveling eastbound to flip over the center divider onto the westbound side. Melville firefighters cut off the roof and removed the driver, who was transported to the Nassau University Medical Center with non-life threatening injures by the Melville Rescue Squad.
