The volunteer fire companies of Mays Landing and Mizpah along with Hamilton Township EMS and Police responded to Milemarker 27 on Bears Head Road on July 14, 2016, for a report of an MVA with entrapment. Mays Landing Chief Robert Hamilton, while responding, was advised that the MVA was a fatality. Chief Hamilton arrived and established command and had crews await the arrival of the medical examiner. Once the ME finished the occupant was extricated and taken from the scene by the ME.
