In the early hours of January 24, 2024, the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a residence on Old Bullet Hole Road. Assistant Chief Stasiak, arrived just before 0200 and discovered a fully involved single-family home. Mutual aid was swiftly requested to bring in extra tankers to tackle the intensifying blaze. Challenges arose in accessing water due to the extended stretch up Old Bullet Hole Road. However, a relay system and water source, approximately a mile from the scene, were established. Despite the intensity of the situation, there were no reported injuries to the family or firefighters. Mutual aid came from Mahopac, Putnam Valley, Kent, Carmel, Mohegan, Somers, Yorktown, Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services, Carmel VAC, and Brewster Fire.
