The Long Branch Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of 3rd and Broadway for a structure fire. Engine 74 and Truck 91 were on scene in less than a minute of dispatch. As crews made entry, they found multiple residents were still in the building and requested mutual aid and a second alarm simultaneously. Despite having a malfunction of their radio system, crews were able to evacuate all residents with no injuries and knock down the heavy fire that had begun to self-vent on the second floor. Along with the Long Branch volunteers and a full municipal recall, units from Asbury Park, Monmouth Beach, Sea Bright, Neptune, Deal and Tinton Falls assisted.
