On June 12, 2016, the Long Island Antique Fire Apparatus photo shoot took place at Heckscher State Park in East Islip. Over 100 pieces of apparatus showed for the event, nicknamed Epic Event 2016. Apparatus came from departments on Long Island, New york City, New jersey and Connecticut and from as far away as Maryland and Maine. The event also focussed on Flag Day and a 20-x 30-foot flaf, courtesy of the Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance was flown.
