On March 2, 2024, the Cool Springs Volunteer Fire Department conducted a live burn training on a donated structure. Members of the department were able to train on different fire scenarios for several hours before the structure was deemed unsafe and destroyed. These training exercises allow firefighters to come as close to a structure fire in a semi-controlled environment and experience the heat and the negative visibility while finding the set fires and extinguishing them. The live burn training was under the command of Chief Andy Webster.
