On March 23, 2024, at 2010, the Islip Terrace Fire Department was activated for a residential structure fire on East Rosyln Street. Second Assistant Chief Knott upgraded the alarm to a structure fire, bringing in neighboring departments. Multiple lines were put into operation and the fire was brought under control within the hour. Mutual aid was provided by the Central Islip, East Islip and East Brentwood; Exchange Ambulance of the Islips provided EMS coverage and Great River provided standby. All units operated under the command of the Chief of Department Peter Peluso, and were back in service around 2300.
