IMPD is investigating the accident.  Witnesses say that the Dodge Avenger was headed north on State Ave at a high rate of speed.  The Ford Escape was headed west on Southeastern Ave.  The two cars connected in the intersection and landed about 50 feet north of the intersection. Witnesses say the Dodge Avenger hit the power line pole and sheared it from its base. The pole was held precariously upright by the high tension power lines.  AES (IPL) was on scene to mitigate.
