Dispatched at 5:49 AM
EG14 marks fire working at 5:52 AM due to heavy black smoke in the air – visible for miles
Multiple calls from neighbors reporting fire to 911
First Unit on scene – LD14 at 5:54 AM
2 – Two Story Structure Homes – Ordinary Construction
Both fully involved with heavy fire showing and impinging on a 3rd house

Collapse in the rear of both house at 6:05 AM
Live power lines down in the rear at
Exposure house to the north (3636) now on fire at 6:05 AM

Primary search of both structures proves all clear at 6:14 AM
Apartment building to the south – all clear at 6:15 AM (fire did not communicate to this structure)
Command requests AES shut down power lines to area between 36th and 37th Street on Illinois St.
Fires under control at 6:56 AM
Unclear on working smoke alarms in occupied structure – the occupant stated she was awakened by the crackling noise from the fire and IFD knocking on her door.

Family of 4 were displaced from their home at 3616 N Illinois. 2 Adults (27 & 28), 2 children (2 & 8) and their dog. IFD Victims Assistance is working with Red Cross for shelter. The family has lived there 2 years.
Both of the main fire structures were unoccupied but under renovation.
