Original call to 911 was as a general fire alarm from Koorsen at 00:06 AM
Multiple calls from staff to 911 reporting fire in the dining hall
Evacuation of residents by staff in process at 00:10 AM
First Unit on scene – LD20 at 00:13 AM
Two Story Structure – Ordinary Construction
Heavy smoke and fire showing
17 IFD Units Dispatched
3 City of Lawrence FD Units dispatched
4 Handlines – 2 Supply Lines
Utilities Secured and shut off to entire structure
Command orders Second Alarm for manpower to complete evacuations at 00:14 AM
15 Additional IFD Units Dispatched
IndyGo buses for shelter requested at 00:15 AM
IndyGo buses en-route at 00:28 AM

Fire under control at 00:36 AM (30 minutes)

Primary and Secondary search of building proved all clear at 00:55 AM
Sprinkler System activated – shut down by IFD at 00:55 AM
Working Smoke Alarms – activated

Incident Commander – Battalion Chief Jason Kelly
No Injuries – No Transports

IFD/IMPD Fire Investigations – Fire originated in dining hall on first floor – in between the fire box and outside wall where the gas fire place is located

Marion County  Health dispatched due to kitchen being affected
DPW dispatched for salt on slick areas

41 Occupants and 3 Staff were successfully evacuated and accounted for.

After all were placed on the IndyGo buses for heated shelter, they were moved to another senior living facility next door at 1:49 AM

Command terminated at 2:50 AM
