Nether Providence Township (Delaware County) companies were dispatched for a vehicle fire on I-476 north at the exit 3 northbound on-ramp. A tractor-trailer was observed well involved on a PennDOT camera. Companies arrived to find a trailer well involved with the tractor pulled away. Crews hit the fire with tank water but ran out as a water supply was being worked. Over 3000 feet of supply line had to be laid. Six companies, including two special called units responded. Crews performed an extensive overhaul which kept I-476 north and the Baltimore Pike west shut down for several hours.
