The Huntington Fire Department dispatched to a house fire on Prime Avenue, July 25, 2016, as heavy thunderstorms swept through the area. Firefighters arrived to an active fire in the attic of the two-story home. First-arriving Engine 237 stretched a line to the attic and one to the front door as crews began an aggressive attack. Second-due Truck 2312 sent the ladder to the roof to vent the fire, and was followed by Engine 234 and Rescue 235. Firefighters quickly knocked down the blaze, and overhauled the exterior and second floor ceilings. Halesite, Huntington Manor, Cold Spring Harbor and Huntington Community First Aid Squad assisted at the scene. Second Deputy Chief Brian Keane was in command, with operations handled by Third Deputy Chief Scott Dodge.
