On May 9, 2016, Hughsonville firefighters, along with the New Hamburg FAST unit, and Mobile Life Paramedics were dispatched for a reported structure fire on Woodland Court. On arrival, firefighters found the entire front of a two-story, 3500-square-foot residence engulfed in flames, with an elderly female burn victim on the front lawn. Paramedics treated the burn victim and quickly transported her to Mid-Hudson Regional. The structure was deemed a total loss and the cause was under investigation by the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response Cause and Origin Team. Mutual aid came from Chelsea, Village of Fishkill, Glenham, New Hackensack, New Hamburg, and Village of Wappingers and the NYSP-Wappingers. Arlington provided standby coverage.
