The Greenlawn Fire Department responded to a house fire on Jamaica Avenue in Greenlawn. A heavy fire condition was discovered in a two-story split-level private dwelling. Mutual aid came from Huntington Manor, Centerport and East Northport. No injuries were reported, and the home was unoccupied at the time. A cat died in the fire. The Suffolk Police and Huntington Town Fire Marshal were on scene investigating the cause.
