The Lakeland Fire Department responded to a fire on Neil Place on August 9, 2016. Upon arrival, a shed along with brush and patio furniture was on fire in the rear yard and extending to the home. Mutual aid companies came from Ronkonkoma, Holbrook and Nesconset. The fire was contained to the siding and did not extend into the home. Suffolk Police and Islip Fire Marshals were on scene to investigate.
