A 73-year-old woman died after a fire damaged her Gregory Lane townhouse in the Franklin Park section of township and left residents in four other units temporarily homeless. When police arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the home. Firefighters from Franklin Park, Middlebush, Griggstown, Little Rocky Hill, Rocky Hill, Community, Somerset Fire and Rescue, North Brunswick and Kendall Park responded to extinguish the fire. Emergency medical personnel from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Kendall Park First Aid Squad were also at the scene.
