Responding units from Mahopac, Putnam Valley and Kent, along with Carmel Police and the NYS Forrest Rangers, responded to a four-plus acre forest fire at the end of Hatfield Road in the Lake MacGregor area of the Mahopac Falls Fire District. Before the units were back in station, Mahopac Fire was dispatched to a working house fire (left) on Mega Lane, off Drewville Road. The large home was fully engulfed, with propane tanks cooking off. Firefighters attacked with handlines and a master stream. Assistance came from Carmel, Kent, Somers, Yorktown Heights, Croton Falls, Carmel Police, Putnam County Sheriff and NYSE&G.
