The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty death of Firefighter Ronald W. Hinkle, 71, of the Loch Sheldrake Fire Department on October 17, 2017.
On October 17, 2017, Firefighter Ronald W. Hinkle responded to a motor vehicle accident with the Loch Sheldrake Fire Company #1. Firefighter Hinkle was found later in the day at his home unresponsive. Fellow firefighters and other first responders attempted to revive Hinkle, but all rescue efforts failed. Firefighter Hinkle passed away from a nature and cause of fatal injury still to be determined.
