Elmont firefighters and FDNY units teamed up on April 18, 2015, to minimize damage after a fire broke out in a set of oxygen and acetylene tanks at the LIRR platform at Belmont Park in Elmont. Hazardous materials units from both Nassau County and the FDNY had the incident under control rapidly.
