Farmville was toned out for a house fire on Milnwood Road, along with Hampden-Sydney and Rice fire departments and Prince Edward Rescue at 1650, for a house fire. The house was occupied by a hoarder and the attack line could not enter the front door and tried the D-side door. Firefighters were only able to get in about 10 feet before being blocked by clutter filling the room. Chief Clark had a second line enter through the window on the B side to extinguish the fire in that room. The fire had extended to the attic and the roof team cut holes and used a handline to extinguish the fire over the bedrooms. Searches discovered a victim in a room packed with clutter and removed the victim. The State Police were investigating the fire.
