Early on September 7, 2016, the Elmwood Park Fire Department responded to Miller Avenue for a reported structure fire. Companies were faced with heavy fire upon arrival on division 2 and attempted an interior attack but were forced out due to the heavy fire load. A second alarm was struck, as handlines and master streams were put into place and the fire was soon brought under control. Upon further investigation, companies discovered the remains of a resident.
