This one hurts. It is with deep regret the Farmington Volunteer Fire Company 4 of the Egg Harbor Township Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of Lieutenant Tyrell Edwards who answered his final alarm on October 28, 2023.

Edwards was born on December 3, 1987 in Atlantic City and was the son of Francetta Watson and Jeffrey Perche and graduated from Pleasantville High School in 2006. He was employed by the City of Pleasantville as a custodian for the Pleasantville School District and the Pleasantville Recreation Center. Tyrell was a reminder of the best qualities that humanity has to offer. He exhibited a strong sense of responsibility, putting the welfare of others before himself in every aspect of his life.

Lt. Edwards is survived by his mother Franetta, stepfather Kimmom Watson of Pleasantville, second parents Debbie and DeHart Washington, God-children DeHart Washington IV and Aisyan Irizarry, sister Bonita Edwards of Absecon, brothers Keith Faulkner of Absecon, David Watson of Pleasantville, DeHart Washington of Egg Harbor Township, Vance Brock of Absecon Harry Goodman of Egg Harbor Township, Aunt Lenora Faulkner of Atlantic City, Uncle, Sidney Faulkner of Pleasantville, fur niece Mrs. Buttons, and a host of family and friends.

Homegoing services were held September 11 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, on S. New Road in Pleasantville where an honor guard of firefighters stood at his casket. He was laid to rest at the Atlantic City Cemetery on Washington Avenue in Pleasantville where he was escorted to the cemetery atop Farmington Engine 1544 led by the Red Knights, and followed by fire apparatus from several communities, family and friends. While on the way, firefighters along the procession route had aerial apparatus fly flags and stood at attention while it passed. Following the interment, a repass was held at the Pleasantville High School.

The family would like to say thank you to everyone for all of your acts of kindness, thoughts and prayers during this time of bereavement.

Rest in peace brother, we’ll take it from here!
