The Farmington Fire Company mourns the loss of Chief Engineer and Life Member Carl Roork who answered his last alarm on December 4, 2021.

Carl joined the Department in 1958, and was an active member for 59 years. He was Chief Engineer for approximately 45 years and was still actively serving in that position up until his passing. He was named Firefighter of the Year five times and received the Fireman of the Year twice. He served on numerous truck committees through the years including Engine 47-5 (1979 and 2013), Rescue 47 (1983 and 2017) and Tanker 47 (1984 and 1995). Carl’s pride and joy however was the company’s 1927 GMC antique fire truck, which he was always eager to take to any parades or demonstrations that he could.

His knowledge, expertise, and dedication cannot be replaced and will be sorely missed.
