The East Meadow Fire Department took numerous calls reporting a building fire in an apartment complex on Glenn Curtis Crescent on November 5, 2016. First Assistant Chief Lennon arrived to fire showing from the front of a reportedly vacant two-story multiple dwelling. Chief of Department McGee arrived and took command. Engine 612 and its crew stretched two lines while Ladder 617 set up in front with Ladder 619. The crews from 617 and Ladder 619 laddered, vented and searched the units. The fire was knocked down and brought under control in about 30 minutes. Mutual aid came from North Merrick, North Bellmore, Levittown, Wantagh, Uniondale, Hicksville and Westbury. Four people were treated at the scene and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
